Eastside Catholic boys stun O’Dea | Wednesday prep roundup

Eastside Catholic rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit Tuesday to shock third-ranked O’Dea in the final seconds.

Senior guard Matt Callans hit a runner with 28 seconds left, lifting the Crusaders to a 65-63 victory.

Eastside avenged 33- and 20-point losses to the Irish last season.

Crusader sophomore Austin Soukup led all scorers with 24 points. He hit six three-pointers.

Mandrell Worthy and Joey Schrieber scored 13 and 10, respectively.

Eastside, which improved to 4-2 in league and 5-2 overall, cut down the nets after Tuesday’s win.

Issaquah’s Price scores 41 in win over Inglemoor

Nick Price scored a career high 41 points Tuesday, helping Issaquah to a 86-78 victory over Inglemoor.

The senior guard hit 70 percent of his shots, including four three-pointers.

Ryan Sexton added 13 points and a team-high six rebounds and Drew Danner scored 12 points.

Issaquah improved to 3-1 in league and 6-1 overall.

Skyline locks down Woodinville

Skyline’s defense shut down Woodinville Tuesday, en route to a 49-32 victory.

The Spartans held the Falcons to 16 points over three quarters, including just three in the fourth quarter.

Skyline senior Will Parker led his team with a game-high 20 points.

Lucas Shannon added 11 points as the Spartans improved to 3-0 in league and 5-0 overall.

Eastlake falls to Garfield

A slow second-half start led Eastlake to an 85-65 loss to Garfield Tuesday night.

The Wolves, who trailed 41-40 at the half, were held to just six points in the third quarter.

Brandon Lester led Eastlake with 23 points, while Eric Holmdahl scored 12.

The Wolves fell to 1-4 in league and 2-6 overall.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Issaquah surges past Inglemoor

Issaquah got off to a fast second-half start Tuesday, rolling to a 61-56 victory over Inglemoor.

The Eagles erupted for 20 points in the third quarter, taking the lead for good.

Monica Landdeck led Issaquah with 16 points. Mandie Hill and MacKenzie Wieburg scored 13 and 11, respectively.

Issaquah improved to 2-2 in league and 6-3 overall.

Eastlake off to hot start in Arizona

Eastlake won its second straight game at the Nike Tournament of Champions Tuesday in Phoenix, Ariz., beating Huntington Beach, Calif., 73-64.

Kendra Morrison led the Wolves with 17 points. Abby Carlson and Bella Zennan scored 11 and 10, respectively, as Eastlake improved to 6-2 overall.

Skyline tripped up by Woodinville

Skyline couldn’t overcome a slow start Tuesday, falling 64-45 to Woodinville.

The Spartans, who trailed 40-21 at halftime, couldn’t find the bottom of the net in the first half.

Skyline’s Megan Wiedeman ended with a game-high 20 points and Rachel Shim scored 10, but the Falcons had four players in double-figures.

The Spartans dropped to 3-1 in league and 4-2 overall.
