Baseball

Eastside Catholic captured the Metro League title on Saturday in a 6-4 win over Blanchet, capped off with a second straight walk-off home run from Jeff Bohling.

Bohling, who hit an extra-inning home run in the semi-finals to lift the Crusaders over O’Dea, repeated the feat in the ninth inning against the Braves with a two-run shot to cap the comeback win.

Coach Kyle Larson’s top-seeded squad will be at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue on Saturday to face either Mount Vernon or Ferndale in the first round of the 3A state tournament.

Issaquah, which was shutout in a 7-0 loss to Redmond in the 4A KingCo title game, faces Puyallup in the first round of the 4A state tournament on Saturday at Everett Memorial Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 10 a.m.

The Eagles are making the trip to state for the first time in the past three seasons and will meet either Lake Stevens or Skyview with a win in the first game of the day.

The 4A and 3A state baseball tournaments conclude May 25 and 26 in Pasco.

Fastpitch

The top seeds will decide the league champion Monday before the remainder of the tournament gets underway Tuesday at home sites around the league.

The final two rounds and all loser’s bracket games will be at Hartman Park in Redmond.

Boys soccer

Skyline, which fell to Roosevelt in the 4A KingCo title game, will face Puyallup on Wednesday for a spot in Saturday’s quarterfinals and a shot at either Bellarmine Prep or top-seeded Snohomish.

Third-seeded Issaquah will be the visitor against Union in the opening round with either Tahoma or Central Kitsap waiting in the quarters.
