The Spartans jumped in front in the third minute on a header from Cole Calabro (assisted by Pedro Miola) but were unable to find the back of the net again, falling in the second overtime to Puyallup 2-1.

The Vikings got the game-winner with only 1 minute 36 seconds remaining in the game to end Skyline’s season.

Issaquah 1 Union 0 (Shootout)

The Eagles found the goal three times in the shootout to move into a quarterfinal game against Central Kitsap on Saturday.

King’s Way 10 Skyline 7

Skyline trailed 6-4 at the half and was unable to recover in the final two frames, falling 10-7 in Vancouver in the opening round of the state tournament.

Jack Pruitt finished with a game-high four goals and Ian Anderson added two more for the Spartans in the loss.

King’s Way will attempt to dispatch another local squad on Saturday, when it travels to unbeaten Issaquah for a quarterfinal matchup.

Eastside Catholic meets Lake Tapps tonight at Pete’s Pool Stadium with an 8 p.m. start time.

The Eagles closed out Eastlake to move one step closer to the third-place game against Newport and a spot in the winner-to-state crossover.

Issaquah will face Ballard today at 3 p.m. at Redmond’s Hartman Park for the right to play Inglemoor tomorrow.
