A group of fifth graders, including twin brothers Trey and Tyler Monguazy, had the chance to play at halftime of Seattle University’s recent basketball game against Louisiana Tech and meet one-half of another great set of twins.
Eddie and John O’Brien starred for the then-Chieftains in the 1950s on the basketball court and baseball diamond, helping the program to a win over the Harlem Globetrotters in an exhibition game. John later became the first NCAA player to score more than 1,000 points in a season and served as King County Commissioner.
Ed was on-hand to meet the brothers and Skyline players, but John was unable to attend due to illness.
