The news was announced on the Issaquah football Twitter feed and confirmed by the Issaquah School District to the Reporter.
Bland is a physical education teacher at Issaquah and his first tenure as head coach of the Eagles’ was highlighted in 2003 as a member of Class 3A.
Issaquah ran through KingCo with a 10-0 regular season that included wins over rival Skyline and a goal line stand victory as time ticked away against Bellevue on the road, before taking the program back to the state semi finals with blowout playoff wins over Burlington-Edison and Columbia River.
The Wolverines won the rematch in the Tacoma Dome 21-0 in the semis, breaking an 18-game winning streak that spanned parts of two seasons for Bland and the Eagles.
