Eastside Catholic, Issaquah finish season at Hardwood Classic | Prep basketball photos

Eastside Catholic finished its basketball season with a 47-45 loss to Rainier Beach in the 3A state title game, holding the Vikings to their lowest point total of the year by more than a dozen points.

The Crusaders had things tied in the final minute before a bucket from Djuan Piper and turnover in the final seconds secured the third straight state title for Beach.

Issaquah took home a third place finish, the highest in more than a decade, after beating top-ranked Jackson in the quarterfinals. The Eagles lost their semi final game to Garfield in a back-and-forth contest that wasn’t decided until a buzzer-beating attempt missed.
