It has walls — almost.

The $33.8 million Sammamish Community and Aquatic Center is well underway. The roughly 69,000-square-foot building is on schedule to be complete in the spring 2016.

The Porter Brothers Construction crew is installing the yellow sheeting along the walls and laying piping for the leisure pool this week.

Some of the glulam beams, which must be kept out of the rain, have been installed above the leisure pool.

Construction crews will continue to excavate the hill behind the Sammamish Library to make room for the remaining part of the underground parking structure.

The weather this winter has been favorable for construction, as their progress is on schedule.

After the recent rain, the site is puddled with water.
