Two elementary schools vandalized | Sammamish police blotter Jan. 31-Feb. 5

The blotter consists of Sammamish police officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Jan. 31

DUI: Sammamish police stopped a driver in the 2400 block of SE 30 St. for speeding and driving while intoxicated. The driver recorded a 0.213 and 0.207 blood alcohol level.

WHAT THE DESKTOP: Someone reported an abandoned desktop at the Klahanie QFC located off Klahanie Drive Southeast.

Feb. 1

BROKEN WINDOW: An unknown suspect slung an unknown object through a window at Samantha Smith Elementary School, 23305 NE 14th St., around 8:30 p.m. The vandalism was less than $1,500.

QUICK EXIT: Someone prowled unlocked vehicles in the 4100 block of 211st Court NE, didn’t take anything but left the vehicles’ doors open.

PLAYGROUND: Overnight, someone cut chains on playground equipment at Margaret Mead Elementary School, 1725 216th Ave. NE. The vandalism was less than $1,500.

Feb. 2

WORN OUT: A workman fell asleep in his pickup truck in front of the Sammamish Library, off of 228th Avenue Southeast. He called someone for a ride.

JEWELRY, MARIJUANA TAKEN: Someone forced his or her way through the front door of a residence in the 1200 block of 227th SE and stole a jewelry box and a bag of marijuana.

Feb. 3

YOU SMOKIN’ THAT REEFER?: A Sammamish parks employee reported multiple teens might be smoking drugs in their vehicles while parked at the Lower Commons off of 222th Place Southeast.

Feb. 5

LIGHTS: Sammamish police stopped an 18-year-old driving in the 22900 block of NE 14th St. for driving without his headlights on. The driver turned over a pipe and bag of marijuana.
