King County work crews are closing the East Lake Sammamish Trail from Southeast 43 Way to Southeast 33 Street beginning Dec. 19 to pave and widen the South Sammamish Segment A portion of the trail.

King County is anticipating the construction work will require the segment of the trail to be closed for one year.

Construction work to the trail will include creating 12-foot-wide paved path with two-foot soft surface shoulders on each side, with enhanced intersections and clear sight lines.

Once developed, the East Lake Sammamish Trail will connect a 44-mile regional trail, extending from Puget Sound in Ballard to the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

Contractor work hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. For more, visit https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/WAKING/bulletins/1747a9d.
