Bumblebees soccer team earns second place at tournament
Photo courtesy of Chris Burke                                The Juanita Bumblebees, a girls U-15 soccer team that competes in the Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association, earned second place at the state championships on Dec. 10 at the Starfire Soccer Complex in Tukwila. Inglewood Middle School students Julia Santamaria and Elly LaMonte of Sammamish were members of the Bumblebees roster. The Bumblebees lost 2-1 to the Vancouver Breeze in the championship match. The Bumblebees compiled an overall record of 6-1 during their playoff run. The team was coached by Chris Burke and Nelson Taggart.
