Scouts to recycle trees on Jan. 4

Sammamish Scout troops will be recycling Christmas trees on Saturday, Jan. 4.

This will be the group’s 35th year of recycling trees for Sammamish and Issaquah Highlands residents. More than 200 scouts and volunteers participate and thousands of Christmas trees have been recycled to date.

New for 2020, a girl scout troop has volunteered to participate as well.

Trees will be picked up curbside starting at 8 a.m. The suggested donation is $15-$25 per tree. Donations may be made online or via a check attached to the tree inside a plastic Ziploc bag.

The Scout Tree Drive is the primary fundraiser for six troops on the Sammamish plateau. All donations fund scouting programs in Sammamish. Donations from residents are a crucial part of the scouts ability to fund a quality program for Sammamish youth.
