In a statement released on March 13, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association announced that a tournament worker at the 3A, 4A state basketball tournament tested positive for COVID-19.

Health officials deemed it to be a low risk to others because the worker didn’t show symptoms until March 9, which was two days after the tournament ended. According to the statement, “It has been deemed by health officials that the earliest the individual may have been contagious is Saturday, March 7.”

Since the statement, the WIAA hasn’t announced any more individuals involved with the tournament testing positive.
