Skyline 6 Newport 2
The Spartans remained atop the Crest division with a four run seventh inning to top Newport 6-2.
Matt Sinatro led the way for Skyline with a 3-4 day at the plate with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Clay Huber added two more base hits and knocked in three in the win.
Aaron Sandefur went five innings for Newport and left with the game tied before the Spartan bats came alive in the final frame.
Matt Lunde left after five innings of work for Skyline, allowing two earned runs with nine strike outs and five walks.
Corbin Powers worked two scoreless innings and struck out three to get the win.
Issaquah 6 Redmond 1
The Eagles got a complete game four-hitter from Brandon Mahovlich as a home run from Andrew Kemmerer to top Redmond.
Derek Chapman, Jake Bakamus, Ethan Kalin and Kemmerer all had RBI for Issaquah in the win.Mahovlich struck out eight and walked six on 132 pitches.
Boys lacrosse
Eastside Catholic 8 Eastlake 7
Ross Komenda and Colin MacIlvennie both netted hat tricks for the Crusaders, which outscored Eastlake 3-0 in the deciding fourth period to pick up the win.
Cole Hedlund scored three goals and Josiah Fonte added two more for the Wolves in the loss.
Girls lacrosse
Issaquah 20 Bellevue 3
Haley Mincin scored five goals to lead all scorers and Issaquah remained perfect at 6-0-0 on the season with the huge win over Bellevue. Emily Mincin, Suzy Emerson and Kamy Brandt each scored three goals for ISD.
Two local lacrosse games will be available On Demand
Issaquah’s trip to Bellevue on Friday, March 30 at 8 p.m. and Bellarmine Prep’s visit to Eastside Catholic on Wednesday, April 18 at 8 p.m. will both be available for Comcast cable customers within 48 hours of the game’s completion.
The games will be offered free of charge after the Washington chapter U.S. Lacrosse reached a one-year agreement with Gametapes LLC, a Seattle-based sports production company.
Girls golf
Eastlake 240 Bothell 292
Jamie Midkiff and Megan Wortherspoon were the medalists with a 42 for the round as the Wolves finished with five of the six low scores for the round to run away from Bothell.
