Crusaders take Metro title
Eastside Catholic is headed back to the 3A state tournament and can once again call itself Metro League champions after beating rival Seattle Prep 3-2 in the championship match of the conference tournament.
The Crusaders will face the winner of a first round Sea-King tournament match between Bellevue and Ingraham Thursday at Chief Sealth for a spot in the tournament semi-finals.
Eastlake moves past Issaquah
Eastlake needed all five games to get past Issaquah Saturday in the opening round of the 4A KingCo volleyball tournament, but survived with a 3-2 win to stay in the winners bracket and move one win from a state tournament spot.
Issaquah will face Inglemoor in a loser-out game Tuesday at 5 p.m. back at Skyline.
Skyline headed to semis with win
The second-seeded Spartans dropped the Vikings 3-0 in Saturday’s opening round and will face their Plateau rivals from Eastlake at home in a 7 p.m. start on Tuesday with a spot in the 4A state tournament on the line.
