Issaquah senior quarterback Jack Neary threw four touchdown passes and running back Jack Gellatly ran in two scores of his own to go with one receiving as the Eagles dropped previously unbeaten Newport 48-28 in the Crown Division opener for both teams.
Issaquah built its lead to 48-14 before a pair of late scores trimmed the final margin.
Skyline rolled past Roosevelt to open its division season, storming past the Roughriders 36-0.
Senior quarterback Kilton Anderson again reached the end zone on the ground and he also fired his first passing scores of the season in the blowout win.
Eastside Catholic faced its most difficult test of the evening getting back to the mainland on a ferry, “sprinting” to the boat per its official Twitter account, after thrashing Bainbridge 49-6 to open Metro League play.
Devon Arbis-Jackson and Henry Jarvis were just two of the Crusaders to find the end zone as coach Jeremy Thielbahr’s squad built a 35-0 halftime lead.
Eastlake was the only local squad to fall in Week 4, losing to Bothell 45-18.
The Wolves led midway through the second quarter, but two quick scores from the Cougars to end the first half provided momentum that paced them in a dominant third quarter.
Final score 49-6. The team is sprinting to the ferry.
