Clear skies and sunshine opened up to a beautiful view of the Washington Cascade mountain range from the plateau Thursday.

The tallest point of the range, 14,410-foot-high Mount Rainier, could be seen from all around the Eastside. (Photos of Mount Rainier were taken looking across Lake Washington.)

The National Weather Service expects clear skies through Friday evening, with weekend skies partly cloudy. There is a 60 percent chance of showers in Sammamish Sunday evening.

Showers, or the chance of them, is expected next week.
