It’s official: Shubha Tirumale’s photo overlooking Lake Sammamish on a February evening is the new Issaquah/Sammamish Reporter masthead image.
Tirumale’s photo, one of more than 100 submissions to the month-long #WeAreTheReporter contest, printed for the first time Friday, June 3.
As the winner, she will also receive a $100 gift card to Palomino, a Mediterranean restaurant located in Bellevue, as well as having her art on the front page, with credit.
We’ve long been searching for a photo that best represents the cities and communities of Issaquah and Sammamish, and what better way to find one than by asking the people who live there?
All submissions are posted on our Flickr account.
During the submission process, we asked the public to weigh in and help us narrow down the options to four beautiful photos.
A huge thanks to all of those who helped us decide via Facebook, Twitter and email. There were far too many wonderful photos for us to pick the final one on our own.
And a big thank you to Sue Campau, John Bissell, Stanley Yuan, Bob Scola, Daniel Gomez, Erin Walters, Heather Francisco, Jean Husemoller, Kathryn Terry, Krystal Velasquez, Mardie Rhodes, Niharika Brahmbhatt, Nirav Gosalia, Rachel McClary, Ranjan Paul, Shubha Tirumale, Tami Thompson, Camille Adamson, Daniel Velasquez Ruano, Eva Philpot, Mariana Gilbert, Kathy Aye, Rick Perry, Min-Hua Lin, Jeff Greene, Heather Aften and John Moffatt for their contributions to the Reporter’s contest.
