School bonds hold leads, regional fire authority still behind | Election update

As of Tuesday evening, the Issaquah and Lake Washington school bonds are still passing in the King County April election; the proposed Eastside Regional Fire Authority is still behind, according to county results.
All three propositions require 60 percent voter approval to pass.
The Issaquah School District’s $533.5 million bond holds steady with 71.37 percent approval. It gathered more than 16,300 favorable votes compared to more than 6,500 against it. King County recorded almost 36 percent voter turnout; the county has yet to count about 400 votes in this race.
The Lake Washington School’s $398 million bond maintains its lead with 66.29 percent approval. With nearly 37 percent voter turnout, more than 27,500 voted in favor of it compared to little more than 14,000 going against it. King County has yet to count about 700 remaining votes in this race.
The Eastside Regional Fire Authority, that would have allowed King County Fire Protection Districts 10 and 38 to merge into one fire authority, has only 56.79 percent voter approval. It gained almost 30 percent voter turnout, with nearly 3,600 votes for and about 2,700 votes against the measure. King County has yet to count about 130 votes in this race.
King County will certify the ballots May 6.
As of Monday at 8 p.m., King County has counted 98 percent of all ballots in the April election. In all, there are less than 2,000 uncounted ballots remaining.
