A Sammamish woman called police June 29 after finding mysterious boxes of ammo in her mailbox.

The woman, who lives in the 22900 block of Northeast 27th Place, said she found seven boxes of gun ammo just sitting in the box. It was not in any sort of shipping container and the woman said she doesn’t own a gun.

Police took the ammunition back to the substation for disposal.

ROAD RAGE

Sammamish police responded to a case of road rage June 30 after a man on a bike motioned to a man driving an SUV to slow down in Pine Lake Park.

The man in the vehicle allegedly got out and began yelling obscenities at the bicyclist and his son. The man on the bike felt phsically threatened and police were called.

The driver claimed he wasn’t speeding and that his exhaust makes it look like he’s driving faster than he really is.

BONG THEFT

A Sammamish woman called police July 1 to report uninvited party guests stole her 3 1/2 foot smoking bong, valued at $200.

The 21-year-old woman, who said she had a medical marijuana license, said a fight broke out between the uninvited guests and she was punched in the face. A friend of the victim said that during the chaos, someone likely ran out the back door with the bong.

HOME INVASION

A Sammamish couple called police July 7 after someone broke into their home while they were sleeping and stole several items, before stealing their car.

The theft occurred in the 5100 block of 190 Place Northeast. Police attempted to locate the thieves using GPS installed in the homeowner’s phone, but were unsuccessful.

A vehicle matching the description was later reported being involved in a hit and run in Everett.

BENT LAMPS

Eight neighbors on Northeast 37th Way and 206 Place Northeast in Sammamish reported someone bent their decorative driveway and porch lamps on July 4.

Damages for all the lights were estimated at $2,200. There are no suspects in the case.

MAILBOX DESTRUCTION

Residents in the 700 block of 222 Place Northeast in Sammamish called police July 3 to report someone blew up their mailbox.

There was no evidence of explosive material around the scene, but the mailbox was “obliterated,” according to reports. Several other mailboxes were also blown up around the same time.

MYSTERIOUS BREAK

A Sammamish man called police June 27 to report someone broke out the front driver’s side window of his car in the middle of the afternoon.

The window had a hole 4 inches in length and 1 inch high. Nobody in the 22400 block of Northeast 10th Street saw anything and the man was unsure who would want to do such a thing to his car.

GRAFFITI

Sammamish police were dispatched to a case of graffiti June 30 in the 20500 block of 34 Place Northeast.

Obscenities were written in permanent marker on both sides of a mailbox. Neighbors covered the graffiti up with pieces of white paper until police arrived and photographed the scene.

CAUGHT IN ACT

Sammamish police found a man attempting to steal items from Margaret Mead Elementary on June 26.

When the 23-year-old Sammamish man attempted to leave the school, he was found with several stolen items as well as several types of prescription pills. The man, who had two warrants out, was arrested on the scene.

EXPLODING GARBAGE

City of Sammamish parks employees called police July 6 to report someone blew up a garbage can at Pine Lake Park overnight, the second one in as many days.

In both cases the garbage can insert split down the seams and garbage was strewn everywhere.

Police found colored wrapping paper and duct tape at both scenes.

STOLEN JEWELRY

A Sammamish woman called police July 3 to report $8,000 in jewelry missing from her home.

The woman, who lives in the 300 block of 243rd Avenue Southeast, said she first noticed her gold and diamond items missing a week after her home was cleaned.
