Skyline records seventh straight shutout

Skyline earned its seventh consecutive shutout Tuesday night, blanking Inglemoor 5-0.

Michele Bretl scored two goals for the Spartans — one in the 19th minute and another in the 48th. Maddie Christ, Sydne Tingey and Rachel Shim added goals for Skyline. Goalkeepers Tina Vargas and Sydney Martinez combined for the shutout. The Spartans moved to 2-0 in league and 7-0 overall with the win.

Eastlake earns draw with Newport

Eastlake grabbed the initial lead Tuesday night, but couldn’t hang on, earning a 1-1 draw with Newport.

The Wolves scored in the 49th minute on an unassisted goal from Jaclyn Softli.

Newport’s Elisa Graue tied the game in the 75th minute on an assist from Mary Carr.

Eastlake is now 2-0-1 in league and 4-4-1 overall.

Eastside Catholic ties Lakeside

Shelby Newell gave Eastside Catholic an early lead Tuesday with an unassisted goal in the 20th minute, but the Crusaders couldn’t quite hang on for the victory.

Lakeside’s Natalie Spach added an unassisted score in the 76th minute. Neither team could score in overtime, resulting in a 1-1 tie.

Eastside moved to 2-3-3 overall and 0-2-2 in league.

Eastlake claims top five spots

Eastlake claimed the top five individual places to defeat Garfield 184-220 Tuesday afternoon at Jefferson Park in Seattle.

Evan Alston finished first with a 2-under-par, 34. Teammates Li Wang and Spencer Weiss shot even par 36s, while Jack Fisher (38) and Chris Koback (40) rounded out the group.

Skyline comes up shy to Redmond

Skyline’s Ryan Mogg earned medalist honors Tuesday afternoon, but the Spartans came up short of victory at the Plateau Club, falling 189-204 to Redmond.

Mogg shot an even par, 36, while Redmond golfers grabbed the next four spots.

Newport swims to win over Issaquah

Newport claimed seven events Tuesday afternoon, including all three relays, to defeat Issaquah 114-72.

Stacy Maier and Kayla Flaten won multiple events for the Eagles. Maier earned a state-qualifying time of 1 minute, 2.3 seconds in the 100 back and finished first in the 200 IM (2:18.54). Flaten was first in the 200 free (2:01.42) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.35). Issaquah diver Jamie Elderkin also placed first with a score of 167.55.
