Obama announces high-speed rail funding for Portland-to-Blaine corridor

The federal government will spend $590 million in the Northwest to improve rail travel times from Blaine to Portland.

According to the Seattle Times, the money is part of the $8 billion stimulus package for high-speed rail, to be announced today in Florida by President Obama.
