Skyline Spartans senior Brandi Hughes captured first place the Class 4A 100-meter hurdles finals with a time of 14.12. Issaquah’s Nikki Stephens finished in second place with a time of 14.61. Hughes also cruised to a first place finish in the Class 4A 300-meter hurdles finals with a time of 44.02. Emerald Ridge’s Karlee Stueckle finished in second place with a time of 44.90.

The Snohomish Panthers defeated the Skyline Spartans 2-1 in the Class 4A quarterfinals on May 21 at Skyline High School in Sammamish. The Panthers and Spartans were tied at 1-1 after 80 minutes of play and remained tied after two five-minute overtime sessions. The game was decided by a penalty kick shootout in which Snohomish outscored Skyline 5-4. The Spartans finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 13-2-2.
