Motorcycle warning signs to be privately installed at Issaquah intersection

The "Watch for Motorcycles" warning signs will be installed at the intersection of Issaquah Hobart Road and SE May Valley Road Wednesday by insurance company Allstate, as part of it's Once is Never Enough campaign.

The intersection of Issaquah Hobart Road and Southeast May Valley Road will see the installation of motorcycle warning signs, as part of a private campaign to reduce intersection collisions in King County.

The “Watch for Motorcycles” warning signs will be installed Wednesday by insurance company Allstate, as part of it’s Once is Never Enough campaign.

The ONE campaign encourages drivers to look left, right and left again for motorcyclists before passing through an intersection. Forty-six percent of fatal multi-vehicle motorcycle collisions occur in intersections, according to a spokesperson for the company.

In the city of Seattle, 1,500 motorcycle crashes were recorded between 2007 and 2011, according to the state Department of Transportation. Of those, 710 occurred at intersections.
