Help needed more than feeling good

For all the good that Tent City does in making people feel good, or creating connections, where is the transitional and affordable housing that we hear so much about. Why does the cycle of people, families, and children who are classified as “working poor” continue?

 

For all the good that Tent City does in making people feel good, or creating connections, where is the transitional and affordable housing that we hear so much about. Why does the cycle of people, families, and children who are classified as “working poor” continue?

We seem happy enough to provide help when folks are at their end by allowing “another 30 days” but don’t care at all to do the foundational work necessary to provide a way out and break the cycle.

When Tent City “38” rolls around, will we all still be feeling good. We better not.
