What a joke! “New Council a “new day” for city.” (The Sammamish Reporter, Jan. 8.)
Like something was wrong with the city before and now we can start anew. That is so far from the truth and shows the typical bias of the Sammamish Reporter stories.
I am amazed that those who moved here after incorporation, knowing exactly what the city was like and about, actually have the nerve to complaint. Why did you move here if you thought things were so bad?
Unless you lived here under the tyranny of King County and the blatant lack of service, representation and control of our future, you do not understand how much the city has improved. We have had a balance of development while maintaining the quality of life and low taxes. All these “improvements” people want cost money and we will have to pay for it.
One new council member with a vested interest in development would turn our community into Aurora Avenue for his financial gain.
I will be monitoring his recusal from any and all votes involving development issues because of the obvious conflict of interest since the voters failed their duty by electing him.
