SR 900 signals a state issue

Regarding a recent letter from Greer Allen, apparently he has not taken the time to actually contact the city of Issaquah staff regarding his issue with signal coordination on SR 900. Had he done so he would have found out that WSDOT controls these signals not the city.

As the retired city Public Works Director, I can say that city staff has always worked with WSDOT on this issue, but the ultimate control is with them not city. My suggestion is that people do their homework before “casting stones” so to speak. But, in the end even the best signal coordination cannot fix too much traffic on the roads.
