Two words for the Issaquah police | Letter

The Issaquah police and the officers from the neighboring cities deserve our compliments.

My wife was at the protest march last week at Rep. Dave Reichert’s office in Issaquah, marched past many officers and spoke to a few.

She kept using phrases like “flawlessly polite” to describe their conduct. My wife is not easily impressed. She was impressed. Let’s remember they were probably on overtime.

This is my America. This is a place where law enforcement protects people’s rights. I can’t think of a right more sacred than the right to peaceably assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances. I can’t imagine the police having done a better job.

I’m sure they hear a lot of two-word phrases on the job, so let’s add a new one: “Thank you.”
