University House in Issaquah opened a new art exhibit on Saturday entitled Wheels, Wings, and Waterways. The works of 24 northwest artists capture art in motion using a variety of mediums, including photography, paint and textiles.

Art lovers may be accustomed to seeing similar artwork at galleries throughout the region, but the intimate environment at University House gives the viewer a unique chance to absorb the impact of each piece. Instead of grouping the artwork by individual artist, Curator Charlotte Beall arranged the pieces according to how they related to each other, thus ushering the observer through the exhibit with visual continuity.

Many of the pieces are available for purchase, and will be on display until October 10.

University House in Issaquah is one of eight Era Living retirement residences throughout King County.
