History Museums hike Saturday

On Saturday, Oct. 24, Issaquah History Museums volunteer Stephen Grate will lead an interpretive hike of the Issaquah-Superior mine site. This walking tour will focus on the operations of the Issaquah & Superior Mining Company, from the 1860s until the 1920s, and will visit the remains of mine entrances from this era.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, Issaquah History Museums volunteer Stephen Grate will lead an interpretive hike of the Issaquah-Superior mine site. This walking tour will focus on the operations of the Issaquah & Superior Mining Company, from the 1860s until the 1920s, and will visit the remains of mine entrances from this era.

Hikers will meet at the Issaquah Depot at 10 a.m. for a brief presentation on the history of Issaquah’s mining operations, to be followed by a 2.5 hour hike covering two miles over easy/moderate terrain.

Hikes are held rain or shine. Bring appropriate clothing, foot gear, water and a sack lunch, and leave animal companions at home.

There is a fee of $6 per person for the hike, or $3 per person for members of the Issaquah History Museums.

The presentation at the Depot is free to the public.
