The Pacific Sound Chorus captured first place at the regional Sweet Adelines International chorus competition held April 2 in Spokane. As the regional champions this women’s a cappella chorus will represent the states of Washington and Alaska as they advance to an international competition, which will take place in the fall of 2012.

The international event will take place in Denver, Colorado where Pacific Sound Chorus will compete against more than 30 of the top regional winners choruses from around the world.

Chartered in Bellevue in January of 1990, Pacific Sound won this contest with high scores in all four adjudicated categories: Music, Sound, Expression and Showmanship. This year 53 members were on stage.

Issaquah members participating in the event were Anne Carr and Jennifer Pittman.

The Pacific Sound Chorus members range in age from 18 to 87 who all share a love for music and singing four-part a cappella harmony.

The chorus both sings and welcomes new members year round. The chorus holds weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays at Music Works NW in Bellevue. More information is available from Gayle at 425-820-9825 or Carol at 425-822-0949 or visit the website at www.pacificsound.org.
