Sammamish hosts Urban Forest Management Open House

The city will hold the event on May 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at City Hall.

If you’re passionate about trees in Sammamish, the city highly encourages locals to attend the Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) Open House on May 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the City Hall council chamber.

The event is a great opportunity for you to chat about the Urban Forest Management Plan with the city’s expert urban forestry consultants, learn about the city’s canopy cover study, and share your opinion regarding the future of Sammamish’s urban forest.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to view the finalists and vote for the winner of the #MySammamishForest Photo Contest. The open house will be happening concurrently with the Sammamish Farmers’ Market, giving attendees the opportunity to enjoy the market in the same evening.

The UFMP is a community-wide planning process that is being led jointly by consultant Davey Resource Group and city staff. The UFMP will set the city’s priorities for the management, protection, and promotion of the urban forest.
