With school starting in less than a week, Kiwanis and AtWork!volunteers loaded backpacks with much-needed school supplies for elementary, middle and high school students in the Issaquah School District. The 500 fully packed rucksacks will be distributed through the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank to families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to buy their children’s school supplies.

Funds for the bag stuffing came from donation barrels at the food bank and around town, as well as a $5,000 gift from the Kiwanis Club.

Aktion Club and Key Club, Kiwanis associated groups, also helped with the backpack project.

More information about the sponsors can be found on the Kiwanis and AtWork! websites.
