Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) bridge crews will conduct monthly maintenance work on the State Route 520 Evergreen Point Floating Bridge early Thursday morning.

Maintenance openings of the bridge drawspan begin Thursday, Jan. 14 at 12:30 a.m. and end at 5 a.m.

During this time, drivers can expect the bridge to be closed to traffic intermittently for up to 30 minutes.

Crews will test the drawspan to ensure proper working order and conduct monthly safety checks.

Traffic conditions on the bridge can be monitored using the SR 520 midspan traffic camera at www.wsdot.wa.gov/Traffic/seattle/sr520_midspan

Drivers will be alerted to possible 30-minute delays by electronic signs on highways that lead to the bridge.

Drivers who choose to take I-90 across Lake Washington should be aware that construction of new sign bridges for electronic speed limit and lane status signs will intermittently close up to two lanes in both directions on I-90 between Rainier Avenue and Bellevue Way SE.
