Issaquah teenager Elliot Lawrence recently served as a legislative page in the Washington State House of Representatives, under the sponsorship of Rep. Jay Rodne of North Bend.

Lawrence, 15, is the son of Doug and Ramona Lawrence of Issaquah.

He is a student at Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus.

Lawrence’s responsibilities included delivering messages and documents to legislators and legislative assistants, committee meetings and House chambers.

He also spent time in the legislative page school learning about state government.

“Our pages work very hard each week and Elliot was a great example of this,” Rodne said. “I really appreciate his efforts and hope he enjoyed his time in Olympia. I think more and more young people are becoming interested in government. And this is important. Our youth need to know that someday in the near future they will not only be voting, but possibly running for office themselves.”
