The Department of Assessments plans to show off $200,00 in annual savings Nov. 17 with an open house.

The savings come from the consolidation of offices into the King County Administration Building. Among the activities there will be several historical photos and artifacts available.

Over decades of land evaluation, the Assessor’s Office has become a repository of regional history. Historical photos, most of which are now located in the State Archives, show initial construction of virtually every home and building in King County.

The office also plans to demonstrate how to use eReal, a real estate history site, and a mobile tablet appraisal.

Assessor Lloyd Hara also plans to be available to take questions at the event. It’s open from 3-6 p.m., on the seventh floor, 500 4th Ave., Seattle.
