Bellevue youth serves as Senate page

Cole Paxton of Bellevue spent the week of April 4 working as a page in the Washington State Senate. Cole, a 14-year-old eighth-grader at The Overlake School in Redmond, was sponsored by Sen. Lisa Brown of Spokane.

 

Cole Paxton of Bellevue spent the week of April 4 working as a page in the Washington State Senate. Cole, a 14-year-old eighth-grader at The Overlake School in Redmond, was sponsored by Sen. Lisa Brown of Spokane.

Pages spend most of their time making deliveries on the Capitol campus, handing out materials on the Senate floor and working in Senate offices.

Cole was one of the pages who presented the colors (flags) to open the session one day and was invited to the governor’s office for a photo op with Gov. Chris Gregoire.
