Biodiesel Network meets

Community members are invited to attend the kick-off of a series of monthly meetings of the Northwest Biodiesel Network.

The meeting, intended for residents who live on the Eastside, is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Railroad Depot in North Bend, 205 McClellan St.

Those who attend will get a chance to hear about what the group is doing to promote renewable “green” fuel, progress toward energy independence and reducing pollution.

“My concerns about the extremely high cost of fueling our cars and trucks spurred me to purchase a much more fuel-efficient diesel vehicle, which ultimately led me to using biodiesel and volunteering for the Northwest Biodiesel Network,” said Stephen Kangas, who is leading the establishment of the chapter.
