Eastside Fire and Rescue plans to set it’s burn moratorium June 15 through Sept. 30.
The ban doesn’t prevent people from barbecuing or having recreation fires, as long as they’re shorter than 2 ft. and narrower than 3 ft.
The burn ban primarily refers to slash piles, land clearing and bonfires. The main concern in Issaquah and Sammamish is that because the cities are so close to forests, fires pose a stronger risk.
