Issaquah Farmer’s Market: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pickering Barn, 1730 10th Ave. NW, Issaquah.

Book discussion: 11 a.m. to noon, Robert Harken, author of the science fiction adventure, “Life on Nubis,” will discuss both the novel and the technological innovations that will create social and economic changes over the next 30 years at the Sammamish Library in the meeting room, 825 228th Ave. SE.

Community Garage Sale: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m in the Issaquah Highlands.


Harvest party: 1-4 p.m. Celebrate the first year of the Lower Commons Community Garden in Sammamish. Join gardeners, city council and city staff for music, food and fun at the garden.

Thriller flash mob rehearsal: 5-6 p.m. at Blakely Hall in the Issaquah Highlands, 2550 NE Park Drive. Flash Mob performs twice at the 13th Annual Green Halloween Festival on Oct. 26.
