On Friday, a King County judge sentenced the Sammamish woman who drove through her lakefront home killing two family members in 2014 to more than six years in prison.
Carol Fedigan, 69, was sentenced to six years and one month for two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of vehicular assault, driving under the influence and reckless endangerment, which she plead guilty to July 30, according to Dan Donahoe of the King County Prosecuting Attorney Office.
Judge John Chun also gave Fedigan more than a year of supervised community custody for violating her July release terms when Fedigan consumed alcohol in early October.
In May 2014, Fedigan mixed wine and the sleep aid Ambien before moving her SUV back into the driveway of her Lake Sammamish home, according to court documents.
With her 3-year-old grandson in her lap, Fedigan mistook the accelerator for the brake and drove through her home, killing her husband and son-in-law and seriously injuring her daughter, according to court documents.
Fedigan and her grandson were not harmed.
