The City of Issaquah will hold a public meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. June 9 to introduce and collect feedback on the possible formation of a new Local Improvement District (LID). The meeting will be held at City Hall’s Eagle Room, 130 E. Sunset Way.

The city and Costco, the major tenant and retail attraction of the shopping area at Pickering Barn, north of Interstate 90, have agreed to share the cost of a study to determine if a LID is an appropriate mechanism for financing a variety of transportation improvements in the North Issaquah area. This feasibility analysis is only an exploratory phase, which will help determine whether or not to proceed with the LID.

The area currently being studied for a possible LID is generally bounded by East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast, Southeast 56th Street/Northwest Sammamish Road, 17th Avenue Northwest and Interstate 90.

During the open house, representatives from the city and Transportation Solutions, Inc. will discuss the proposal and answer any questions.

The first 30 minutes will be reserved for attendees to review display materials and ask questions. A short presentation will then take place at 7 p.m.
