Hometown Issaquah Reunion: Saturday, Sept. 12, the Issaquah History Museums will hold the sixth annual Hometown Issaquah Reunion. The event will take place at the Issaquah Depot, 50 Rainier Boulevard N, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will provide an opportunity for longtime residents, former residents, and pioneer descendents to meet and socialize. The reunion will also offer workshops designed to help reveal and preserve your own personal history. Eastside Preparatory School: will host guest speaker Alan Lightman – author of “Einstein’s Dreams.” Eastside Preparatory School is proud to announce the launch of an annual guest speaker program featuring nationally acclaimed scholars. The first featured scholar for Eastside Prep’s inaugural Visiting Thinker Night is author and physicist Dr. Alan Lightman. Family Support Group: Led by a trained facilitator, the Family Support Group is designed to assist family members, employers and friends of people experiencing the disease of mental illness. Visions for Tomorrow: Education course for direct caregivers of children and adolescents diagnosed with mental illness. Information about a variety of mental health disorders, including autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, conduct disorder, depressive disorder and schizophrenia. Hospice Volunteer Training: Highline Medical Center’s Hospice program: is a nonprofit organization serving terminally ill patients and their families in South and East King County. Highline Hospice is recruiting caring and compassionate people interested in supporting terminally ill patients and their families. Galleries/Exhibits

The Art of the Sari: A Photo Journey of Indian Artists and Textiles. The Sammamish Arts Commission will present The Art of the Sari in the Sammamish City Hall Commons Gallery from Sep. 16–Dec. 4. Brilliantly colored Saris will line the gallery, and an intricate form of sand painting called Rangoli will be created on the floor. Additionally, textiles, artists and people from craft villages in Northeastern and Western India will be presented in a series of photographic images by Michael Rainwater. The opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Wednesday, Sep. 16, from 6–8 p.m. in the gallery and is open to the public.
