King County Roads Division crews will be on the job around the clock until roads are again passable after the season’s first snow storm hit King County.

The Roads Division continues to plow and sand roads with the highest traffic volumes. Roads that are known to be dangerous in these conditions may be closed, particularly if they are steep or difficult to keep clear.

The wet snow and rain on the roads now could freeze overnight creating hazardous travel conditions for Tuesday’s morning commute.

The Road Division is urging motorists to leave plenty of room between their vehicle and the one they are following. This distance is the main factor in many accidents in icy conditions.
