Though October is still more than five months away, excitement is already building for what is fast becoming one of the region’s most successful attractions – the Issaquah Salmon Days Festival.

Forty years ago, Salmon Days started as a small, local celebration of the city and the famous fish which inhabits local waters. Four decades later, the festival is nationally renown.

Last year it attracted an estimated 200,000 visitors, and won top statewide honors for tourism and promotion.

The Issaquah Salmon Days Festivals Office is currently accepting vendor applications for participation in the 2010 festival, to be held Oct. 2 and 3, in downtown Issaquah. The application deadline is June 1.

Those interested in participating as a food vendor or artist/craftsperson, should go online to www.salmondays.org. or call 425-392-0661 for more information.

Festival organizers are also keen to hear from community groups interested in taking part in the parade, as well as nonprofit organizations and individuals eager to learn how they can be a part of the fun. Contact the festival office for more information about how you can get involved in the 2010 festival.
