Downed tree over power lines closes Issaquah-Pine Lake Road in Sammamish | Update

The city of Sammamish has closed the 3200 block of Issaquah-Pine Lake Road due to a downed tree over power lines, the city stated in a press release Thursday afternoon.

The city reports police are on the scene and Puget Sound Energy has been contacted. The city doesn’t have an estimated time for when the road will reopen.

Update 4:30 p.m.

The fallen tree caused a fire at the scene, which the city of Sammamish reports is out. The city estimates it will be six hours before power is restored at the area and the road is reopened.

Update 5:18 p.m.

Puget Sound Energy estimates power will be restored at the 3200 block of Issaquah-Pine Lake Road at 6:30 p.m., a spokesperson with the city of Sammamish has confirmed, with the road expected to reopen shortly after.

PSE initially estimated six hours for power to be restored at the area and the road to reopen.

The city spokesperson also confirmed a power outage on 244th Avenue Northeast affecting approximately 260 homes. PSE estimates that power will be restored in this area around 8 p.m.

City staff is also monitoring a minor landslide along Northeast Lake Sammamish Parkway, just south of Sammamish Landing. The city reports the slope is stable.
