Driver charged with DUI after crash near Tiger Mountain

A 21-year-old Mount Vernon man has been charged with driving under the influence after crashing his 1995 Ford Mustang on State Route 18 just east of the Tiger Mountain summit at about 4 a.m. this morning.

A 21-year-old Mount Vernon man has been charged with driving under the influence after crashing his 1995 Ford Mustang on State Route 18 just east of the Tiger Mountain summit at about 4 a.m. this morning.

The driver was uninjured, but one of the two passengers, a 35-year-old Portland man, was transported to Overlake Hospital with that was thought to be either a broken arm or dislocated shoulder. The other passenger, a 24-year-old man from Florida, was not injured. All were wearing seatbelts.

The drunk driver was booked into King County Jail.

The single-vehicle accident blocked the eastbound lane of SR 18 for three hours, before being reopened to traffic at 7:20 a.m.
