Police responded to a call of woman sleeping under trees along the side of Southeast 28th Street, near 218th Avenue Southeast on Sept. 30.

The 51-year-old Sammamish woman was contacted earlier by police, who found  a 1-liter bottle of vodka in her purse, approximately 3/4 full.

She was able to walk away from the first contact without assistance and said she was headed home.

When police found her passed out under the tree the second time, the bottle was 1/4 of the way full.

Police called medics, who had trouble restraining the combative woman.

While on the stretcher the woman threw a punch with her right hand and grazed an officer’s cheek. The officer wasn’t hurt.

The woman was taken away to the hospital to be evaluated.

REIGN MAN GONE

A Sammamish woman called police Sept. 27 to report that someone stole a Shawn Kemp painting from the game room in her home. The art of the former Seattle Supersonic was valued at $8,000. Thieves also took the woman’s purse, but it was found down the street in the 2000 block of Northeast 16th Street.

The woman had multiple college aged kids at her home at the time, but she doesn’t believe any of them took the painting. The kids apparently left the sliding glass door to the game room open because it was hot inside, then left the room. The woman believes someone then the painting.

NO BOUNDARIES

A Sammamish woman went to police Sept. 28 to report harassment by a salesman.

The woman responded to an ad for a free carbon monoxide detector and included her address and phone number.

Since doing so, a salesman has shown up at her house numerous times and participated in activity that has made the woman uncomfortable. He told the woman all the wiring in her house was bad and suggested she change her insurance so she could afford to have her house rewired. At one point, the man made reference to an incident the woman’s daughter was involved in and told her he was a pastor and that he could pray for her.

Officers warned the woman to call police if the man showed up again unannounced.

BANNED

Sammamish police served a trespassing warning to a man Sept. 25 after receiving a complaint from a local church that he continues to be disruptive and overly aggressive at the establishment.

The man refused to sign the warning letter, but was warned that if he returned to the church he could be arrested.

MISSING CHECKS

A Sammamish couple called police Sept. 29 to report a suspected mail theft in the 2100 block of Southeast 32nd Place.

They said they have found their mailbox open and empty on numerous occasions and haven’t received checks that were recently mailed to them.

TOOLS STOLEN

A Sammamish man flagged down police Sept. 24 to report that someone broke into his truck’s toolboxes the previous night, stealing numerous items.

Items taken out of the apartment complex parking lot located in the 22000 block of Northeast Inglewood Hill Road, included skill saws and grinders. Total value was estimated at $1,000.
