Eastlake debate students qualify for state tournament

The Eastlake High School Speech and Debate team turned in another strong performance this season. A record 10 students qualified for the State Forensics tournament, which will take place at the University of Puget Sound March 15.

The Eastlake High School Speech and Debate team turned in another strong performance this season. A record 10 students qualified for the State Forensics tournament, which will take place at the University of Puget Sound March 15.

The state qualifiers and their categories are:

  • Impromptu: Ross Coken, Ian Cooper, Ryan Holmdahl, Ryan Lundberg, Andy Mohajeri and Nick Randolph
  • Interpretive Reading: Tommy Derezes
  • Expository: Colton Hemphill and Greg Lauer
  • Oratory: Madelyn Mendlen
