Election Day results in for 45th Legislative District

Goodman and Springer lead in early results for 45th Legislative District

While many eyes are turned to the presidential election, early results in key races in the 45th Legislative District are also in.

For the 45th district, which includes parts of Kirkland Sammamish and Duvall, two positions for state representative are on the line.

These are the results as of election night, with more ballots expected to be counted throughout the week:

  • For Representative Pos. 1, Roger Goodman(D) has 73.65% with 53,845 votes, against John P. Gibbons (R) with 19,166 votes.
  • For Representative Pos. 2, Larry Springer (D) has 69.38% with 50,936 votes, against Amber Krabach (R) with 22,422 votes.

King County has seen record-breaking election turnout during this presidential year, and elections expected they would be able to post results for approximately 1 million ballots tonight.

Elections staff said it’s possible the turnout could exceed 90% this year.

“We are prepared to pick up hundreds of thousands more ballots from drop boxes and we are ready to process every eligible ballot that is returned to us on time, including those with the on-time Nov. 3 postmark per state law,” according to elections staff earlier this week.
