At about 9:13 p.m. on Thursday night, another mountain biker called 911, reporting that the 43-year-old man was experiencing chest pains.

According to a release from EFR, when firefighters arrived on scene, they formed a rescue team assembling their supplies with an oxygen tank, blankets, and an aid kit.

Firefighters had to hike over a mile to reach the patient who was alert, but cold and wet. Additional personnel carried in extra oxygen, a stokes-stretcher, ropes and blankets, to assist in preparing the patient for movement.

The patient was transported to Evergreen Hospital.
